Hi Wil,

You can store the maps on compact flash, in fact, it is recommended. You
can use the side slot, I did that for about a year on the classic unit. On
my mPower, though, the side slot didn't work, so I used the back slot
instead. Since I've now gone wireless regarding the GPS receiver, using the
back slot is now preferable. Before, when using a serial receiver with a
pouch, the side slot was preferable, as the cable didn't get in my way then.
Best Regards,

Les

Subject: [Braillenote] gps

hi all

I am about to start using the GPS version 3.1 i do believe it is, on my
braillenote running keysoft 5.1.
I do have a question if I may

Can the maps be stored on compact flash, and incidentally, , can the CF card
be put into an adaptor and run from the side slot of the braillenote or does
it have to be the back slot?
also, when walking a route , or indeed travelling it by foot with my white
cane, if i go off course, for example up a paersons driveway, will the route
recalculate or will i be left stranded regards, william lomas, Coventry, UK
