Terry, it sure is confusing.  One question, and forgive the question 
if I sound totally ignorant.
You were speaking of the maximum allowed.  Why would it not be 
theoretically  possible to save or ask the bn to set up an emboss 
mode that had 0 as the number of lines and 0 as the number of 
characters per line?
Just my thoughts on this; I have not had break enough from seventh 
grade to figure this out.
