There are excellent upgrading instructions on the HW website:

This includes the exact steps for installing the product key. There is also a step in there somewhere involving pressing the number 2 right after one of the resets. I can't remember all the details, it's been a while since I installed the update. If you still don't want to try this without tech support's assistance, I understand. But if you want to try again this weekend, I'll send you the instructions privately.
