Thanks Jonathan and all who helped out.
The upgrade is complete!

Every one had a little piece of the truth, from reformatting to the 4-5
keys. It's amazing what the entire truth, in the right order, will do to
make things work. :-)

Thanks again!

Rusty

Hi rusty, yes this does make sense. When you install the product key, you're
still within KeySoft itself, and KeySoft is fine with FAT 32. When you
install the actual upgrade, you're outside of KeySoft and using the
BrailleNote mPower's boot loader, which is not FAT 32 aware. Your subsequent
comments about the unit freezing makes me certain that a reformat of the
card will do the trick.

RE: [Braillenote] Problems with upgrading to 7.0

Jonathan, would the fat32 format allow me to install the key from the sd
card? In other words, I am able to use the card for the key, but the
instal
hangs up. Does this make sense under the "wrong format" scenario?

Thanks
Rusty

Hi rusty, some of the cards that were recently sent out were inadvertently
formatted with FAT 32, and not FAT 16. So if you've just received an SD
card
from HumanWare, I suspect this is your problem. We sincerely apologise for
this. The work around is to copy the files to your flash disk if you have
room, or some other card such as a CF card. Once the files are on another
location, go to the Utilities Menu and choose Application program, choose
the KeySoft System Disk as your Drive, then Windows as your directory.
Then
locate the Prepare SD Card for Upgrade file, and press ENTER. press ENTER
at
the command line prompt, and let the program re-format the card. Once this
is done, you can copy the files back to the SD card and all should proceed
normally. There is no need to reinstall your product key.
