Hi Virgie,
The PK is one of the Braillenote products. Trekker is an entirely
different product, even though they are both sold by Humanware. The PK
uses the Sendero GPS product. I believe that purchasing the PK and
Senero GPS will cost a lot more than purchasing the Trekker, even with
the Maestro software.

Hi Linda,
You can purchase a bluetooth wireless keyboard to use with Trekker
making it easier to input information. It is a querty fold up keyboard
and it folds small enough to put in a shirt pocket so I am told. I
thought that the pk and Trekker were separate purchases. Am I mistaken?
Please enlighten me because I need to make an informed decision here.
Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Virgie,
Please don't take this as pressure, but I just want to share. The
Sendero weighs less than a pound. It has the regular braille
keyboard, and 'the machine is smaller than the Braille N Speak. I
know I am spending a lot of money this year, but it is worth it. I am
buying the Pk, which is the small machine, the sendero goes with it.
This way it will fit in my purse. The Trekor I understand is also
small, but when you write on it you have to press each letter at a
time, I think. Sounds like a backwards braille slate. I always hated
that braille slate, and never mastered it.
I was spoiled, went to public school, and always had a braille writer
since I was in kindergarten.
Anyway, that is why I asked you if you could send me the information
on all three devices. Maybe I am getjing mixed up.
Incidentally, my friend who got her dog from Smith Town, got the
Trekor for free because she is training the people at Smithtown to use
the item.
Just two weeks ago she went there for training herself.

Hi Linda,
I am hearing good things about it as well. I haven't decided for sure
but I think I am leaning more toward Trekker for ease of portability
and less weight. I hope you get to go to be trained this year too,
let me know!

Hi Virgie,
Someone I highly respect told me that she thought the Sendero with
the Bk was the best and most servicable. Michael Mae, a graduate of
Seeing Eye, developed the Sendero and owns the company. I hope to
be going this year as one of the people to the Seeing Eye to work
with the Gps and the Sendero. It is on the way as we speak.
