Yes, but try typing help river and see how far it gets you<grin>. Someone
helped me with what I needed to drop in the river. But I have to say that
the direction I needed to go to find that item wasn't even stated when I
typed look. I went east by mistake and there it was. However, look stated
nothing about being able to go east from that point.
I had already wandered around for ten minutes before hitting east by
mistake. I then went back to see if east had been a choice and it was
not<grin>.

The game has a built-in hint system that pretty much walks you through the
game.  There is something you can drop in the river which should make
getting that mask a bit easier.
