Rusty: That amount of money for a car adapter is grossly out of line for what is needed. HumanWare could manufacture one and sell for less than 40 if they felt inclined.

I didn't look too closely to see if the tips were interchangable, but something like that might work as well. This is all I had to do, it did not harm the unit.
