Hi list: As list administrator, I don't allow most attachments to be sent to the list for a couple of reasons, one which has already been mentioned, taking into account the spread of viruses.
The second reason is that many people on this list are on slow connections and to make being subscribed to the list a more enjoyable experience for them as well, I have the list software strip attachments and I also limit the size of the message body, so that large messages are sent to me first, before being approved.
