Hello All,
I can tell you from experience, that there is no problem with transplanting, if you send in your old unit to be transplanted, they clean it, and then run it through a test before putting it into the new unit. If there is a problem, they call you and tell you what the next step is. I unfortunately, had many different problems, so they took my unit for research, and gave me a new unit. So, I can also tell you from experience that the new braille displays are much quieter. They are crisper, as far as the braille goes, but the old displays are just as good.

Dear Virgie:

I understand the new displays on the Mpower are a little quieter
than the older ones and maybe a bit crisper to read, but seems
the consensus of the list is there is no problem with
transplanted displays.

I'm not sure if when you send your unit in for transplantation if
they check over and clean the Braille display while they are
working on it or not.

You may wish to ask Humanware about this.

Brian
