Vickie,
I think that I am having a problem with my jaws driver. I do
exactly as you do I go into the remote synth on the pk, and then choose
Bluetooth. The Pk says ready. I do not hear the computer name though. I
also do not hear any thing after I hit k in the jaws menu. However when I
shut down jaws I get a message telling me that it could not find the keynote
driver. The installation to the driver was a no brainer. I have only one
version of jaws on my computer. This is the one that I chose. I could not
select a comm. Port or anything. Correct? Thank you for your patients.
Happy Easter
Scott

Oh, sorry, wrote that last message as I was walking out the door. What I
meant by hearing the connection, is that my PK states/displays the name of
the computer to which I am connecting. So, going back again here maybe a
bit slower:

First on the PK:
Space with o to get into the options menu,
C for connectivity menu,
B for Bluetooth,
Y to say yes to turn Bluetooth on,
N to have it not search for devices,
Space down through the list of Bluetooth devices to get to your PC
Press enter when you find the name of your PC in the list,
As prompted then press a to activate ActiveSync,
Then exit back to the main menu,
Press r for remote synthesizer,
It should then say remote synthesizer port currently serial or Bluetooth,
If it doesn't say Bluetooth press space with dots 3 4 to get to bluetooth,
When Bluetooth is selected then press enter,
The PK should then say/display Bluetooth connection press enter for and then
give the name of your PC,
So press enter,
The PK should then display remote synthesizer ready.

Next on the PC:
Press insert j to get to the Jaws window,
Press alt l to get to the language options,
Press c for change synthesizer,
Press k for KeyNote,
The PK should then start reading the PC screen.
Now, seeing as I don't always go in and change things like the com port in
ActiveSync, I sometimes get an error message from ActiveSync when I try the
first time. But, when I do, I just okay out of that and go back into Jaws
and try again. And, should I get this error the first time, I don't need to
start over with the PK, don't touch it in fact, just start from the insert j
part and do over again.

Vickie,
Ok I get you up till you hear the computer connection. What is this
sound? I do not get this. What is the indication that there is actually a
connection made. When My Pk tells me that it is ready, after that it error
buzzes when ever I hit any keys. I know that the pk is connected because
active synk tells me that is connected.
