Hi Stacey, I have the western digital 80 Gb drive and it works well. It gets it's power through the usb port of the MPower, so the adapter isn't actually required.
This is going to drain your MPower battery much faster of course. I haven't had it running long enough at one time to see just how much faster the MPower batery goes ddown, but wouldn't be surprised if it really discharges a lot faster. If this would be a concern, the adapter might be good, but this will also reduce the portability of the system, so you do have a trade off.
