Hi, Jim, I know it's not nearly as fast, but when we're camping various places in our motor home, I have been satisfied with the infrared phone I bought from Verizon for around $130 I believe. Yes, it's slow, but it works, and I don't have to worry whether there's a wireless system that I can get to work or not. Your wife could just enter the local dial up number for your isp and then she'd be set to go.
