A better way to deal with different electrical voltages is to do what laptops/notebooks do well -- they have built-in automatic converters. Desktop PC's have a switch that changes the voltage from 110V to 220V and all you do is just push a small button in the appropriate direction. I always wonder why notetakers sold in the U.S. don't always come as dual voltage especially when you factor in the $6-thousand-plus one pays for one.
