I am not sure; I emailed HW's tech support team and got that message, as I said, a few years ago. I never even knew this list existed until I saw the lists.humanware.com favorite in my mPower, though I wish it had been more publicized as it is a great thing.

From whom did you receive this information?
I have been on this list for three years, and I have never heard
that
either of these features were planned for a future release.
I do not doubt that you were told this, I simply wonder about the
source.

Please do not take offense to this; I am not saying anything bad
about HW. I was told over two years ago that both a dictionary
program and metric/temperature converter were planned for "in the
future". It just seems that when a company says something is in
the future, it would be nice to have even a rough estimate of how
far in the future that is. It gets quite frustrating when you
are told something is coming, then, years later, have not heard a
thing.

Again, no offense to you, Jonathan, or HW. Just a comment on
this annoyance, which happens in any large company.

Hi all, instant messaging support is coming, not in the next
release but
it is planned and will be available in the future. I only say
this because
people are falsely claiming that somehow it isn't possible on the
BrailleNote. it is, and it will be an extremely accessible
implementation
supporting a variety of messaging formats.
