You are right. Also, you have to consider what programming language the
BN uses. On the other hand, if it is a common language, then people could
make there own programs to do some, but certainly not all, of the things
they are asking HW about. You certainly pointed out something I had not
thought of, though.

Although the idea of third party software might well be intriguing, in
my opinion, what Humanware has to consider is this. What kind of demand
is there for an SDK? Are there developers out there who are clamoring
to create software for the BN line of products? I certainly don't have
the answer to that question.
Accordingly, is it therefore in the best interests of Humanware and its
customers to take development time to produce an SDK, or would that time
be better spent fine tuning and improving Keysoft. Again, I certainly
don't have the answers. I think at this point in time that Humanware
will have to weigh the costs and hopefully come up with a solution that
we all can live with.

Why doesn't the BrailleNote allow third party programs? Also, a
while
back, there was a thread about the want of a sdk. Did anything ever
bocome
of that?

The Pac Mate already has instant messaging.

I would like nothing more. I would suggest, instead of MSN, a
program such as Miranda IM that can log the user into MSN, AOL,
Yahoo, and all that at once, combining contacts from each service
into one list so the accounts appear as if Miranda were its own
account. This would be much more widely accessable. Instant
Messenger for BN would be an incredible addition, and (as
mentioned) a step forward in beating the Pac Mate.

hello,
I just wanted to know that would it be possible to put the msn
messenger programme on the braille note? Again i think the
pacmate has gone ahead with this step as you can get msn and also
with jaws scripts so it is accessible.
So if the humanware team could have this feature in the near
coming future then i think more people will be buying the braille
note.
What does everyone on the list think about this?
regards,
Chaman
