It is a Linksys router, and we put in the 26 digit key generated by my
husband's computer I think.

My husband did all but the Braille note configuration.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] WEP key

Hello Rose:

I don't know what kind of wireless router you're using, but make sure your
not confusing the "Pass Phrase" with the WEP key. On at least the Linksys
routers, this is a very easy mistake to make. When configuring the router,
you must manually enter the WEP key. I've also found it very helpful to use
only digits on my WEP key to avoid the text vs. number issue.

Also, what level of WEP are you using?? If you're using 64 bit, the number
of alpha or digits in your WEP key should be 10, if you're using 128 bit,
then you should have 26 digits in your key. Remember that if you do decide
to use alpha characters in your WEP key, they must be lower case a through f
and of course the digits 0 through 9. Also, I think the VoiceNote
defaults to 0 as the authentication level, so that's the one you should be
using.

If you could tell me what kind of router you're trying to connect up to, I
might be able to help further. If you'd like to write to me privately
off-list and take me through your whole setup, I can give specific pointers.
I have two very active WEP encrypted home networks that I use my MPower with
and I'd be happy to help.

hth
Jeff
