Bar codes are registered and as it happens are available on the
internet. Of course the info doesn't do you any good if you don't have
the tools.

interfacing a bar code scanner might not be too difficult, but I wonder
where you'd find a database that connects barcodes to products and even
dosage information.  I'd be really worried about advising dosage
information, by the way, just imagine if there was a mistake in the
database ... can you send me a link? thanks.
