Hi,

There are several things you can do - this is a broad question!

1. If the BrailleNote can fit inside a large pocket, it's a BrailleNote
PK. If the BrailleNote either has a USB port, SD Card Slot, Microphone
Jack or record button, and it cannot fit in a large pocket, it's an
MPower. Otherwise, it's a classic.

2. If the BrailleNote does not have a Compact Flash Card Slot, it's a
BrailleNote original, or a BrailleNote Classic with the old board.

3. If the BrailleNote does not have a Braille display, it's not a
BrailleNote but a VoiceNote.

4. The reference (I.E. 18 or 32) is the number of Braille cells in the
Braille display, so if the Braille display has 18 cells it's a
BrailleNote 18, if it has 32 cells it's a BrailleNote 32.

5. If the BrailleNote has a Braille keyboard, it's a BrailleNote BT.
If it has a QWERTY (Computer) keyboard, it's a BrailleNote QT.

6. You can find out the current version of KeySoft by pressing the
information hotkey from the main menu. If you do not know what this
hotkey is, examine the penultimate prompt of the Main Menu.

I'm sure I'll think of more before the evening's over, but that should
be enough...

Matthew
