uploading. This is great but what happened. I used two 500 MB

At least I don't have to do tech support calls, thank goodness.

Well, my concern now isn't so much about the 7.1 upgrade, I can
manage
without it as I don't have the really concerning battery issues,
I get
amazingly good battery life in fact, and I can deal with the
download issues
and don't set many alarms any longer, but my concern is that
since I cannot
do this particular upgrade now, I may not be able to do future
upgrades
either.
By the way, to HumanWare staff, when I do the 4,6 or 4,5 reset
the version I
get is 1.8 on the 32 display and the version I get on the 18-cell
is 1.6.
Then I get the SD card error whether I select boot loader or
update from the
resulting menu.

Although I don't have my mPower (I didn't install 7.01 yhet), I

experienced any problems with the bootloader when I upgraded to
7.0 in June

ran the prepare utility on, one which I had used last spring to

Yes, I know, I am bugging you Jonathan , but I am not the only
person having
my problems. I still have a hunch it relates to something that
did not go
right with the bootloader, as nothing happened when I installed 7
and used
the 1-2 with the reset button as the instructions on the web site
and in my
package later seemed to tell me to do.
Anyone else having the problems, especially the SD card error,
did you also
have a problem with the boot file in January or whenever you did
7. At the
time since the installation went without a hitch I thought
nothing of it but
hindsight tells me this may be where the problem could exist. I
am not a
programmer, just tossing it out there to see if maybe I can
intuit my way to
helping get a solution--as this seems to be something I have done
in the
past at work and at home.
It may be worth a though at least.

Hi Jim, I suspect that what has happened in this case is that you
received a
card that was, in fact, not prepared correctly. HumanWare did
send a bunch
of these out and we apologise for this. When the unit goes dead
like that,
it suggests that the SD card is formatted with FAT 32, not FAT 16
as is
necessary. We did post a message about this when we discovered
the error a
few months back, but if you had already installed, it may not
have been
important to you at the time. So if you run the Prepare SD card
for upgrade
utility on this card, you should find it works just fine. Hope
this helps.
