I went through the same process you did recently. Move all files to another
card. Run the prepare SD card for upgrade program which is in the Keysoft
System disk in the windows folder I believe. You would go to utilities
menu, and to something called run applications. Enter on that and you will
be asked where the program is, so select windows, then the program which
says preparing SD card for upgrade. Be sure your SD card is in the unit so
it will be formatted properly. Now that you have 7.0 on your machine, the
only file you will need is the 7.01 upgrade file which is called nk.bin.
I'd place that file onto your newly formatted card and run it again and I'm
certain the upgrade will be successful. Move your files back to the card
after upgrading. Delete the older nk.bin file and replace it with your
latest nk.bin file.

Subject: [Braillenote] upgrading the mPower BT from 7.0 to 7.1
Hello List:
I'm trying to upgrade my mPower from KS 7.0 to 7.1.
I installed the 7.0 upgrade from the online site, and then later received
the software on an SD card because I was entitled to the upgrade.
I successfully have been using 7.0, but felt I should upgrade to 7.1. So, I
inserted the SD card into my PC which contained the KS 7.0 files, and just
downloaded the 7.1 file onto the card from the website.
Everything went well until I started to upgrade. I hit dots 4 and 6 with
the reset button, that part seemed ok. Then the instructions said something
about holding down dots 1 and 2, but that didn't seem to work. So, I tried
hitting the dots 4 5 with the reset, and that didn't seem to produce any
results.
I actually had to do a service reset, because the unit froze with the
message "update bootloader" on the braille display.
I really would like to upgrade to 7.1 however, it is not urgent, but if I
can do it then I will.
Has anyone else experienced trouble upgrading? And, what am I doing wrong
or not doing...any ideas?
Thanks,
Katie
