Hi Vicky:
It's been a couple of days ago since I sent her that attachment.
Evidently, it didn't work, because she's still trying to do it.
I can't think of anything else to do.

The quoted material below sounds as if the zipped file itself was
being
renamed to show the exe extension. So, if you sent Lisa the exe
file
itself, something I didn't think of doing, then maybe that will
take care of
things.

This becomes real interesting. I sent Lisa an attachment with
the Hyde Security file unzipped. I'm not sure what's happening.

Well, looks as if you have to unzip the file first before trying
to install
it. So, if maybe you don't have a PC to perform this task, maybe
someone
was thinking of you, on the BN, changing the ZIP extension to a
BKS
extension so it could possibly be unzipped on the BN using the
BookShare
unpack utility. Although, best I can recall, other than for
unpacking
BookShare books, this isn't really an HW approved method.
Anyway, here are what the instructions say at the below page:
There is a known issue in KeySoft 6.11 that results in users
sometimes
experiencing security dialog boxes not clearing as is normally
desired when
browsing
the Internet when pressing the desired buttons. Users who are
experiencing
this problem should unzip this file and run the resulting exe
file from the
utilities/application menu. Performing a 456 or JKL reset will
result in the
modifications that this file makes, being undone and therefore
the file
would
need to be run again to continue to avoid looping security dialog
boxes.

Subject: [Braillenote] still unable to run hidden security patch
Hi
Okay the hidden security dialogs patch for KS still will not run.
Here are
the steps I am taking.
1. I go to Humanware's home page.
2. I link on the ^. downloads.
3. I link on the words Braillenote downloads.
4. I go to the section that talks about the hidden security
patch. I
download where the link says to download it.
6. The file downloads with the extension zip.
7. I go to the file manager menu where I locate the file. The
file still
has the zip extension.
8. I rename the file with the exe extension. Unfortunately the
file will
not allow me to rename just the extension. I rename the file
exactly the
way it is written hiddensecuritydialogs in uncontracted Braille.
I add the
dots 4-6 for the period and the letters exe.
9. I go to the utilities menu. There I press a to run the
application.
The BN asks which directory and the file is found. The file has
the exe
extension.
10. The BN says not valid WIN 32 application.
Any ideas? I don't mind redownloading the file and deleting it
several times
daily. Something this simple shouldn't be this difficult.
Thanks for your help and your time.
Lisa
