I don't know what kind of memory card NLS will be using.
Supposedly it will be proprietary, made to their specifications.

Now a BrailleNote may well be able to play NLS audio files if you
download them from their web site, which I believe will be the
preferred method of distributing them, but if their cards are
proprietary, you would need either a slot for it on your
BrailleNote or a card reader for it.

Presumably NLS wants a proprietary card because they are of the
opinion that no currently available memory card meets their
requirements for storage capacity, ease of handling and
ruggedness.
