Hi Terry, if I remember correctly, I think you transplanted from a Classic? If that's the case, then you would just have received the latest product CD when you received your transplant. It's possible that at the time you received your original BrailleNote Classic, we were still putting the getting started audio out on cassette. There was a period there where KeySoft7 customers were receiving the 6.2 CD by mistake. On this CD though, you will of course have the User Guide in various forms. Chapter 1 of that Guide is the script of the audio tutorial, covering things like getting acquainted with the BrailleNote, writing a basic document, and basically telling you enough things to get you up and running.
As for telling an audio CD from a data CD, this is an excellent question. Physically, they all feel the same, so the only way you can tell is if it is labelled appropriately. I'll certainly be reviewing this to make sure we're labelling the audio clearly enough as audio. Is this the cd that goes in the cd player or the computer. I have only seen one cd. I think, at convention, a cd was passed out, in the past. Which cd is for which machine? Thanks for any help. I never knew any of the cds could be used in a cd player. This is a little off topic, but how can a blind person tell if a cd is for a computer or a cd player? Thanks for any explination. This imfo should help many others. The first is on an audio CD. This is not a CD rom, but an audio CD, the kind that people put in any standard CD player such as a stereo or portable CD player. In that sense because it isn't a CD ROM, we can't put a text file on that. The second place it appears is in MP3 on the KeySoft CD, and the text does already appear there. It's also worth noting that not only do you get the text of the audio tutorial on the BrailleNote itself and on the KeySoft CD, but you get the text of the tutorial in hardcopy Braille with every BrailleNote, since the audio tutorial uses the text of Chapter One of the Users Guide, and this is what you get in hardcopy Braille. So what you are asking for, we've done ever since the BrailleNote has been out there. To summarise then, Deaf Blind customers can access the text of the getting started audio tutorial in three ways. 1, on the KeySoft CD Rom in various formats including Plain Text and PDF. 2, on board the unit in two ways, through the on-line help system and the Book Reader. And 3, in hardcopy Braille. Yes, we want text, along with audio on that Cd-Rom.
