Then, here is another thing that you are able to try that will help 
determine whether or not your friend needs a battery replacement. Once you 
see your friend, you will want to go to the options menu, by pressing space 
with o; go to support information mode, by pressing space with i; then hit 
the  letter i. This will tell you the battery cycle count. If it is getting 
pretty close to 300 or pass 300, then it is time for a battery replacement, 
but if it is in the high 100's and low 200's, it is still good for a while. 
Try giving this a shot and report the battery cycle count once you get that 
value.
