Malaina,
Then, here is another thing that you are able to try that will help
determine whether or not your friend needs a battery replacement. Once you
see your friend, you will want to go to the options menu, by pressing
space with o; go to support information mode, by pressing space with i;
then hit the letter i. This will tell you the battery cycle count. If it
is getting pretty close to 300 or pass 300, then it is time for a battery
replacement, but if it is in the high 100's and low 200's, it is still
good for a while. Try giving this a shot and report the battery cycle
count once you get that value.

I am not sure how long she has had it. Someone else had it before her. I
don't know how long the other person had it either. Hopefully, I will
have a better idea of what the problem is when I ee it. My friend said
there were some problems with it before she got it but I don't know what
they are.

Malaina,
That is probably worht trying. The other thing that will
determine whether
or not your friend will need a battery replacement is how long
has she had
the PK, and has she ever sent it in before for a battery
replacement. If you
first try the recalibration with the AC adapter plugged in, which
is the
only way that the unit will power up; then gather the information
about the
life of that battery.
I hope this information is able to help you.

My friend that has a bn pk has gone quit a while with out being
able to
charge the unit, it works but only if it is plugged in. I told
her the
battery probably needs to be replaced because it has gone so
long with out
being charged. Is that right or should we try to recalabrate it
while
being plugged in to the charger? I am meeting with her this
morning.
Thanks for any help.
Malaina
