Keymail is much better than it was in the DOS days. But, to tell the truth,
I like pine better than either Keymail or Outlook Express.

I've often said it might be a good idea of the BN had Keyterm, like the
Keysoft program did in the DOS days. Then, I could use Pine with my Unix
shell. That would solve the problem of downloading messages and reading
html and accessing a web site. Keyterm would also help people transfer
stuff from one BN to another.

Another option BN users could try would be to use a web-based email system.
There again, the problem of downloading would disappear.

: Well said, Rose. I forgot about the html issue. For me the slow delete
: problem was really an issue. I was also disappointed that the bn couldn't
: filter messages until I started playing with windows mobile five on a cell
: phone.
: I was quite surprised to find out that pocket outlook or whatever that
email
: program is called doesn't filter messages either.
: They are all in an inbox. The braille note email program needs to be
totally
: rewritten and it would be wonderful if filtering could be added or at
least
: grouping by conversation as with outlook.

: I am not Paul but I developed quite a dislike for the e-mail program last
: May when my hard drive crashed and I had to use the BN to collect 300-400
: messages a day. It collected them just fine but, I am used to Outlook
where
: I can set filters so that the BN messages end up in their own box, the
Jaws
: messages in their box and my personal messages in their own box. Trying
to
: deal with this amount of mail in one inbox and find the messages that it
was
: most important I answer was a time-consuming, and labor intensive process.
: It took me nearly five hours a day to read e-mail instead of the
approximate
: one hour I normally would spend on the computer.
:
: I hope never to have to use the BN as my only e-mail connection again. I
: don't mind sending a message with it occasionally and getting back say
10-20
: messages but it just can't be efficient dealing with hundreds of messages
: all stuck in one box.
:
: Then there is the HTML issue that has been discussed on this list many
: times.
:
: I am so glad I don't have to depend on the BN for all my e-mail needs.

: Hi Paul,
:
: I'm not here to defend HW, but I'd like to know, what, specifically, is
not
: reliable about the email program? I've been doing mostly all my email on
it
: for months now, with very few problems. One that I can remember got blamed
: on the BN, and was, in fact, a problem with my ISP. So, I'd say that,
while
: their email is fiddly, it is relatively reliable. Well, once in a very
long
: while, I'll lose a message that I've written. That what you mean? <smile
