Could you explain this idea again for me?  How would hearing the tones for
the phone help one?

One of my other devices has a phone device that creates the tones according 
to the number entered and by selecting that name and a keystroke his tones 
are played over the speaker and the phone is dialed.

This is quite good when you can't remember his number and are carrying more 
than just the BrailleNote.
