Carol,
Thank you so much for being a voice of reason in a sea of chaos!
The Voicemate/Parrot, which is the device originally referred to
is primarily used by people who are not familiar enough with
Braille or technology to handle a notetaker. Many of these people
are fairly elderly, and cannot dial the phone with ease. Perhaps
I'm missing something here, but it seems to me that, if you can
handle writing on your notetaker, you can probably manage to push
the buttons on your telephone. You can look up the number on your
BN/VN, easily! Having it dial the number for you is a gimmick,
which, no doubt, would be resented by the vast majority of people
on this list, for not being something of a higher priority.

I know these things can be "helpful" and are a bit "nifty" too;
but why
invent the wheel! Just keep your friend's number in the PK!
After all, PK
can already do that and we can look for features that at present
are not
possible! <Smile
Just my "two cents worth", as others would say!

Good evening,
One of my other devices has a phone device that creates the
tones
according
to the number entered and by selecting that name and a keystroke
his tones
are played over the speaker and the phone is dialed.
This is quite good when you can't remember his number and are
carrying
more
than just the BrailleNote.
Have a great day,
Paul Bolduc
