Hi, KC:

You will find some of it in the Connectivity Chapter. You already have your directory of accounts set up, since you use it for a dial up connection. When you use a wireless card, if it has never been used, put it in, do a reset. Then, press Function with O, then C. Press W for wireless. You will be asked if your network card is on; you will press Y for yes. Space down until you see "scan for wireless connection". Press Enter. Press the Space bar, and hopefully, you will see number one. Press Enter on that. Write in the name you want to use for that connection. The ssid will set itself, so you can just press Escape.

If you got a router you could use from home, often times, you can get the router-modem all in one. Some ISP's provide that. Since you have Earthlink, you wouldn't change anything on your Directory of Accounts side. Once you made a wireless connection, you can use it anywhere without having to change the settings. Your wireless will pick those up, unless, like Jim Aldrich said, it is a secured connection.

Warm Regards,
Rhonda Clark,
Illinois

Subject: re: [Braillenote] Wireless

Hi rhonda,

Okay, I understand about the Pc. what I really want to know is
whether it is possible to use a router, with an antenna, an
M-power M-Power, with just a WIFI card?

(The general consensus among acquaintances, who are Pc users,
and sighed, is that my laptop is just not adequate. I only
use it for letter writing, because it is hooked to a printer.)

another thing, when I'm at a facility that offers free
wireless service, with a WIFI card, how would I set up the
M-Power to use it?
Where, in tarnation, is the information with Instructions,
found in the Manual?
(I suspect there is no such thing as specific instructions for
this feature in the Manual! I'd gladly be proven wrong! smile)
Kc
