Subject: Re: [Braillenote] WiFi cards?
My purpose for asking the question on the list was to save time and
hopefully money and find out what cards have worked for others.
Goint to a computer store was an obvious solution without asking for
the expertise from the list. However, the problem with that solution is:
A. CompUSA is not in an accessible location for me;
B. What cards that are in stock are not necessarily any that will work;
C. Cards are packaged in bubble packaging and salespeople do not want
to open them for one just to try out;
D. Though the MPower is a recent (one year) development, it uses
primitive technology (800.11B) instead of newer and faster technologies;
I have been quite disappointed because I had the choice of obtaining
a PacMate or the BN. The card that I have worked perfectly in a
Pacmate 18 months ago. The CF card I already have cost me $100, and
is an 802.11G card. It is inexcusable that the BN's firmware limits
what kinds of cards can be used, and is is disgusting that for such
an expensive PDA, one cannot use a G card.
Please send me specific recommendations for real cards, not just
nonhelpful suggestions I could have thought of on my own.
Thanks,
Diane Bomar

Subject: [Braillenote] WiFi cards?
Hello,
I am a new BrailleNote user, and own a Linksys WiFi card, which I
purchased about 18 months ago, when testing out a PacMate. It
worked fine with the PacMate, but the BrailleNote does not recognize it.
What cards work with the BrailleNote, and where can they be found?
Also, does anyone know of any that come with an RJ45 port for
hardware connection?
Thanks,
Diane
