Actyually, the cable that works with the BN (or the connector itself) is
different between BNS and BN products because: one, the connector itself on
the 
BNS is a propriatary connector versus standard 9-pin connector on the BN,
and second, these two uses different modes of sending and receiving
information using RS232 protocol (serial connection).

I don't know if this is of help; but the Braille Lite line of products had a
serial cable that would fit the holes in the serial port [of the BL], and
the pins of the PC.  If I lived near you, I'd give you the cable to try out.
