Now I'm curious. Shane forgive me for riding on the coattail of your
subject line.
When I have looked specifically for support information mode and type
it in the brlnote as such, I don't find it. Why?At 08:20 PM

Shane,
Yes, they are documented. If you look at the User Guide under Chapter 2,
there is a topic about Support Information Mopde. But the list that is
present is not accurate or not complete in detail, so I'll give you what
each comand exactly does (hope this information might remind you or help you
to learn more secrets on BN's operation (depending on your experience)):
Let us say that you want to check out Support Informaiton Mode. From
anywhere in KeySoft, go to Options with space with o (Fn+o). Go to Gupport
Info window with space with I (Read+i). Here are the commands, or switches:
A: Battery accuracy: this allows you to view the status whether if the
bttery power indicator is accurate or not.
B: Battery charging status: this allows you to view the duration of the
charge.
C: current capacity: this allows you to view the current battery capacity.
The higher the value the longer the battery life.
D: designed capacity: this allows you to view the last measured discharge
value, as well as designed capacity.
E: end voltage: this allows you to see the various voltage settings when the
power will shut down.
Recalibration-related:
F: recalibration log on Flash Disk: this is the standard recalibration
switch, except that the log will be saved on the Flash Disk.
G: recalibration log on the System Disk: same as f switch, except that the
log will be on the KeySoft System Disk.
K: recalibration with forming charge: this allows you to recalibrate the
battery for about 16 hours. (never use this command unless you are
instructed to)
R: recalibration: this is the standard recalibration with no logs.
W: recalibration with deep discharge: same as f, g, k, and r switch except
that the battery will recalibrate at a lowest voltage possible.
Y: recalibration with continuous cycle: this is the continous recalibration
(if the recalibration does not stop, check to see if you've selected y
switch. Do it at your own risk)
Power-related:
H: hiberate: this allows you to "hibernate" your BrailleNote. The next time
you shut down your unit, it will go into the hibernate mode. The only way to
"wake" the BN is to preform a Service Reset. Best for long term storage.
M: battery isolation: I'm guessing here that it is used for testing the
quality of the battery.
Z; partial charge/discharge test: as the name implies, this allows yout have
the battery partially charged/discharged. (do it at your own risk)
Status-related:
P: power level: same as Power and Battery Status item from the Options Menu.
S: battery status: this allows you to view the curent status of the battery
charge.
T: temperature: this is the most frequent command that I tend to utilize--it
allows you to view the battery temperature (Kathleen, I guess that answers
your question).
V: batrery voltage: this allows you to view the current battery voltage.
Misc:
Space with I (Read+I): memory usage: this is the ost frequent command that I
use if a software problem occurs--allows you to see how much storage and
program memory KeySoft uses (this is the command that I use to identify
memory management problems).
My hands are tired after writing these set of commands. I hope this
information may help you: to both starters and veterans.
