For a moment, let us leave the Daisy issue behind. I have a folder, and since I work with individuals on technological subjects, I named this folder "Rich Tech Records" I know, imagination is obviously not my strong suit. However, here is the point of my narrative. I have a four gig micro drive on which this folder resides. There are 704 files in this folder. None of the files exceeds 40 kb. If I attempt to open this folder with the Braillenote, it takes approximately 3 minutes. The Pac Mate, on the other hand, opens and views the folder nearly instantly. The only way I was able to manage the folder on the Braillenote was to split the contents into six folders.

One is that not all Bookshare books are formatted 100% correctly, and the other is that Windows CE 4.2 doesn't cope well with very large numbers of files (I think it starts getting iffy much above 1000). There aren't any problems with the actual download as far as I know. we'll have to go to a new operating system to fix the problem with large numbers of files. regards, Andy. ---- Andrew Riden Software Development Engineer HumanWare Ltd. 11 Mary Muller Drive, Christchurch, New Zealand.
