Cindy I feel the same way you do.
That was very well put.
I can't believe that some one would post such a message to a public list.
Last I checked, this list was designed for talking about the braillenote and
family of braillenote products.
Thanks again for that post.

Well, as for giving things up to purchase this equipment, you should maybe
consider the fact that some, including myself already do. I have just
purchased a new computer because the old one had too many problems and it
was purchased by Voc Rehab. I AM saving to be able to get the sma for the
BN before 8.0 comes out. I AM saving for the upgrade to the screenreader.
I AM saving for financial software that is accessible because I am going
to
have to give up the printed way. I AM saving for a new mattress because
the
one I have is showing signs of breaking down.
And add to that, I do not have a job. I am sick and tired of people
saying
"where there is a will, there is a way" when they have NO idea what they
are
talking about.
I apologize to the rest of the list that do not feel this way. This
message
just really, really, ticked me off because this person has no right to
judge
others. I know there are people that do have the money or could save the
money that don't. However, these comments should not be sent to a public
list. There are many people on this list that do save to buy things and
they would purchase more things on their own if the prices of adaptive
tech
were lower. Adaptive tech has a very small market and the prices will
tend
to be higher as a result of lower demand.
This topic has totally strayed from positive or helpful comments regarding
HW products so I will no longer post regarding this subject and may in
fact
consider unsubscribing.

Hi Everyone;
It also might take up to much memory. I love the idea of having a
dictionary that I can finally look up something on my own. I will not
have to ask what a word means or how to spell something any more.
I am actually glad that it is on a card so it will not clutter up your
machine and it can be an option.
Those out there who are saying you can not afford to buy it, first of
all, just because an agency bought your machine, does not limit you from
upgrading it yourself. If you really want that dictionary, bring your
lunch for a few months and see how much you can save, or give up
something else.
My theory is;
Where there is a will,
There is a way.
Most likely I am going to treat myself to one for Christmas.
CAP bought my original machine, but with part of my home equity loan, I
payed for the transplant.
Many people said to me, why don't you get the Government to pay for the
transplant.
My response was, I am proud to be able to pay for it myself. This is
the first time I have been able to pay for something I need and not
depend on the government.

yeah but then you'd be paying even more for the device.

Hi guys,
Was wondering what you think of this. How about Humanware produce a
device with the dictionary already on the device? For example, they
could produce their own Talking Dictionary, with the Oxford Concise
Dictionary as the main software for the device. Any thoughts on this
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
