I agree with Matthew. I would like that feature too.
Another feature I would love to see is the ability to connect the BN
via USB to use it as a braille display.
Just my two cents.

Matt,
I think this cannot be done because the settings are hardware-based and
there is no way of doing that. I haven't tried it with JAWS (using different
settings for each of the synthesizers that I have).

Subject: [Braillenote] Suggestion: different speech settings for KeynoteGold
and Eloquence

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I've been off the list for a bit.
If there's already been a discussion on the topic,
don't bother replying.

Currently, when switching between Eloquence and Keynote Gold and vice-versa,
the speech settings are retained globally. For
example, if I am using eloquence at rate 13 and then switch to Keynote, it
is now set at rate 13. If I change the speech rate of
Keynote to 11 and switch back to Eloquence, Eloquence is now at rate 11.

I can personally understand Eloquence at a faster speech rate than Keynote
because I use Eloquence every day with JAWS on the
computer. I would, therefore, like to be able to set Eloquence at rate 13
and Keynote at rate 10 or 11, and not have to change the
speech rate every time I change synthesizer. That is, I would like to have
speech settings stored according to synthesizer, rather
than on a global basis. Is there any chance we could have this implamented
in the next version, as it's such a minor change?

Can we have pronunciation dictionaries stored on a synth by synth basis as
well? (I'm not sure if this is already the case as I
don't use the dictionary, but thought I'd throw the idea in as a footnote.)

Thanks,
Matthew
