Hello again, Perhaps those on cable can step forward to tell us how they got around this problem when using an M-power. I certainly would like to know as well.

Yes, I only use wireless with my BN. It is the smtp for outgoing email that is the problem. Inside my own house, no problem. Probably at another person's house using insight, probably no problem. Any where else, ie school, and no go for sending. I can receive my email from any where just not sending. I'm assuming you are using a wireless router with your cable system. I'll say this: I have gone to other places where a wireless connection was on the cable system. I was able to download my mail from their system but I couldn't send my mail till I got home. Since I have DSL through my phone company, it probably works a bit differently. I have been in various hotels in other cities and I have been able to download my Email just fine if I was using an open wireless system or could get the security code of the system I was about to use. I could send and receive Email through these systems in other cities. I went to a friend's house and could send and receive Email from there once he gave me the security to his system. I said all this to illustrate that receiving and sending Email from your specific address is possible using a BN to do the job. This of Corse is not without challenge but it can be done! I have friends who are on cable with a wireless router. It would be nice to see if they could send and receive Email from their Specific addresses if they came to visit. I do know that when I visited the friend with cable, I could receive my Email but couldn't send anything I wrote out. This is despite the fact that the authentication was set to yes. I believe I understand where you are coming from but don't have an immediate solution at this time. Cindy PS They neglect to tell you these things before you sign up. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of James Aldrich Sent: Friday, January 19, 2007 11:37 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] gmail Hello! I'd get an Isp which allows for one to send and receive Email from most wireless connections. I don't settle for half a loaf, I want the whole loaf so to speak so get an ISp which will enable you to do what you wish to accomplish. I realize that this may be easier said than done depending on where you live. I have used it in places such as Starbucks, hotels, and airports and I can confirm Kathleen's words that it is in fact ISP-INDEPENDENT. In one occasion, I was able to send and receive email through a hotel's WiFi connection.
