Ask your college if they have a "non-secure guest access" that identifies
you by your MAC address.

I am currently using my school's network for internet access and email
downloading. My university requires you to use an odyssey client which is
software they make you install on your computer. Obviously, we cannot
install such software. I did find where they give guest lecturers access
but it is only for one week at a time and has to be requested by a staff
member. In my case, I was able to get semester by semester access with them
recognizing my computer via my MAC. When I set up the configuration I had
to type in their SSID because the access I was using was not broadcast.

They will not want you to use unsecured access but you can explain to them
that viruses cannot run on the machine that you are requesting this access
for.

Hope that helps. It did take me over a year to track down the appropriate
people and finely get access though.

Cindy

Hope, Chris and list,
At this time, there is no way to input the
user ID and password while creating a
wireless configuration. If you are going to
browse the network files and folder, you can
enter user ID and password.
Regards,
Joseph
