Hi, all. I'm wondering if any of you have taken your BrailleNotes or mPowers on cruises. My husband and I are going on a four-day cruise in a few weeks (Royal Caribbean, Monarch of the Sea). In one of the books our travel agent gave us, under "what not to pack", it mentioned transformers. I wondered if that meant battery chargers, fearing I wouldn't have a way to charge my BN, so I called Royal Caribbean. The guy said that was a good question, and he put me on hold. He came back to say we could bring electronic equipment on board, but not to pack it, because the X-ray machines might damage the transformers in the electronic equipment. As I've thought about it, I wonder if the guy gave me the right answer to what I was asking. If it was a question of how to bring electronic equipment on board, wouldn't the information have talked about how to do so, rather than just listing "transformers" as something not to pack? But then again, would the BN's charger be considered a transformer? I have both the old charger and the new two-piece charger. I don't want to blow the ship's electricity or blow out my BN, but I do want to use it if I can. So I'm just wondering if any of you have had any issues or experience with taking the BN on a cruise and charging it on a ship.
