Joseph,

You are not being too inquisitive at all. And, no I have not tried using an actual Vista machine to test this with, this is based on the documentation that I have read. Have you tried testing the synchronization of files and transfering Office 2007 files to the BrailleNote?

Kevin

Kevin,
I don't want to be too inqisitive, but have you tried it in real life
(connecting your BrailleNote to a Vista machine)?

Joseph,

Yes, I am aware of that, if you read my message I stated that Vista is
planning on using SyncToy. I too do my homework. I read about what Vista has

to offer and ran the Windows Vista Advisor.

Kevin,
If you've read my warning message about Vista, you might have seen
that Vista no longer includes ActiveSync. Instead, it includes what's
called Sync Center in place of ActiveSync (I know it because I've
tried it). Office 2007
access requires Windows CE 6.0 for optimal results.
Cheers,
Joseph

I was wondering if anyone has heard what HumanWare is planning on
doing so Office 2007 files can be read on the BrailleNote? Since
Office 2007 and Vista are currently both out on the market. And, since
Vista is out, is HumanWare planning on allowing the ability to
synchronize with either a Vista desktop/laptop. To my knowledge Vista
is not planning on using ActiveSync 4.2, instead they are planning on
using SyncToy v1.4. I am assuming HumanWare is working on something
because if they are not they will be left behind in the ever growing
so fast technological evolution. I think
one of the major things that must be done is upgrading the operating
system
to Windows CE 6.0, this will fix many other issues that people have been
looking for, and this will put the BrailleNote in the lead of having the
latest operating system, since all of the other note taking devices are
only
up to 5.0 at the most. This will also make it so the BrailleNote is able
to
synchronize with Vista units and read Office 2007 files. This will also
open up the ability to use a wider range of devices, whether that is going
through bluetooth, USB, or through some other means of connection.

This will require a lot of work on HumanWare side, but we have to
start somewhere.
