hi list:
I personally think that changing the battery is
not something that humanware deems us incapable of
doing, but if the braillenote was to run on
batteries that wern't soldered to the circuit,
they'd run out even quicker, cost us more money in
the long term, and may mean that people who are
unsure of changing the batteries cause lasting
damage to other parts of the braillenote.
Personally i've found that if you are with someone
who has relative vision, they can assist you in
changing the batteries, but it helps and "i
advise" if they have some electrical circuit
knowledge.
Now before i get my head bitten off for saying
rash battery related things, if you aren't sure
about electrics, and you don't have sighted help,
don't go taking your braillenote to bits because
you could cause a lot more damage and have to send
it back and possibly get a new one.
Note: braillenote warranty doesn't cover problems
caused by you messing around with it's insides, so
you change the battery yourself at your own risk.
Louise.
