Good one Richard! The best feature about the BN family is that there is almost always more than one way to do a task. The reason I do not use Richard's method is because I find it hard to remember all the single letter strokes because of my epelepsi. I guess it is because I am more confident with using menus. My way may be a little slower, but it gives me the assurance that I am in the right place. Maybe after I have had more experience, I will try to use the letter method Richard explained.

This means that with the notetaker I'm currently using, you can open a new file with anywhere from two to four quick keystrokes, depending on certain variables. It also means that if you're just jotting something down that you need for a few hours, say directions, a phone number or whatever, you can open a file to write the info down, but don't actually have to save a file which you might later just want to go in and delete. What your suggesting seems OK if that file exists, but if it doesn't than you have to select all that stuff right up front, which seems time=consuming to me.
