Great idea!  I would have it as a menu choice and have it save what ever
you put in as a file called note pad and use space e to save and exit.
It would be your job to delete what you do not need, but you could get
there with, mostlikely, the letter N.

I too would love to see a feature like this.  I'm sure HW won't
appreciate 
this; but why not put a note pad option off the menu.  If you want to
save 
it at the end of your work you could give a command that would
esentially be 
like creating the file but would close and save the notepad.  If you
just 
closed the file the data would be gone.  Or, perhaps if you closed the
file 
the data would be put in a bak file and would be preserved for one 
generation.  It wouldn't be hard to write a user specification for this
and 
I think it would be a popular feature.
It is, after all, called the Braille Note!
