What slot do you use for the wireless card?  If you can use the slot on
the right, you might be able to get an extra adapter and just leave it
in the adapter.  They should be easier to remove than a regular cf or sd
card.  With an extra adapter, you can use the right slot for other
purposes when you are not using wireless.
Just a thought.
You might want to go to your vendor and test it out.

I see no problems, except that it will drain your battery faster 
than if it were out (even if the unit is turned off). Leaving it 
in should not harm any firmware on the card.
