Kevin,
I'm not trying to start trouble here, but I have heard much grumbling on
this list and elsewhere about the US Humanware people, their work, their
competence and what have you. Is it therefore better to report things and to
try to talk to the Canadian tech support people? The Australians? The New
Zealanders?
Thanks.
Alice

Dave,
I am as equally looking forward to the next build of KeySoft as it will
hopefully fix many of the bugs that were either missed or
weren't cover with the latest KeySoft 7.5 Build 27/28. The thing that I am
really looking forward to is a hardware revision and/or
Operating System upgrade.
I would encourage for all people to report any and all bugs to HumanWare
tech support so to see if it is one that is reproduceable
and will likely be fixed in the next revision of KeySoft. There is a fine
balance between development time and bugs considered of
priority for the development cycle.

Hello Kevin,
Before I retired, I was a program analyst, developer. You are
absolutely right, you must be able to reproduce a bug to identify
how and why it happens. That is why I suggest more work on error
trapping and error messages.
I have provided Humanware with detail on how to reproduce a bug
that occurs when embossing from Keymail (after a 456 reset).
This is a clear case of variables not being initialised.
Embossing works ok if you emboss from Keyword first then from
keymail. When you do have an embossed e-mail message, you find
that the first letter of the first and last names and the "at"
sign, in the e-mail address, have been replaced with spaces. I
look forward to the next rebuild.
Thanks for the work you do on testing, it is a thankless task
most of the time -- and I don't mean to give the impression of
being a winger -- but I paid lots of money, over $10000 for the
classic and $2700 for the upgrade. This is serious money for a
device that works as flakily as 7.5.28 does.
Kind regards,
Dave Ransley
