Hi Iyana,
Since two "experts" answered your question, I'll try my best to add another "expert" opinion: Just changing an extension from say, .mp3 to ogg will not guarantee that KSWMedia (the executable name for Media Player) will play mp3 as lossless OGG file. Only changing the "inner format" - that is, saving as a different file type under programs like Goldwave, Sound Forge, etc. on a PC will perform what you ask. Afor changing the extension will "fool" the BrailleNote to believe that it is another file type (this is the very exploit we are using to unzip zipped archives by renaming the extension to bks), it will not alter the audio binary encoding - in simple terms, you've just put a differ"^ "cover" but the inside material will be same.
Hope this explained a lot here.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. From now on, I'll not answer all questions to allow other "potential experts" to show up.

Subject: [Braillenote] Converting audio
files.

Hi list
Does changing the extension on an audio file
change the type, say
wav to mp3. Can you do that?
Iyana
