Hello there, It seems I must add a little more to my message
regarding ethernet-card unreliability. On turning my Mpower on,
a gap of some 6 or 7 seconds elapses before the message: "network
card ready", is announced. I always insert this card while the
unit is turned off; the Mpower hangs-up if the card is inserted
while turned on. This instability occurs occasionally but I have
learned to live with it; I find it a comparatively small
annoyance and easily cured. Yes, both the cards I possess were
purchased through Humanware and have the name Socket written on
them. When the card does not connect, I get the error message,
quoting an error number; I'm certainly not going to provoke its
malfunction to check the exact number. I presume that this
fault, together with my having had to retreat to build 27, in
order to be able to continue to use my cdrom drive, which
definitely is listed as being supported, will by now have been
passed on by maurice, who I informed, to the appropriate
programming section. You have, haven't you Maurice? All good
wishes.
Don Cooper.
