Hi. Is it possible to download single tracks from amazon with the bn? I have
been just doing that and sometimes go thru the cd to find what I want and
download just that track. When i've used the bn on amazon it seems to know
the bn is a mobile device so gives me the smaller site, but can I still do
this?

Hello Grant,
I have streamed mp3 and m3u linked files in the past with my Voice Note.
Sometimes it was by accident because I really wanted to download them
rather than stream them but I forgot to go into the internet options menu
first and change a setting. I am wondering if this isn't the problem you
are seeing with streaming.
While in the web browser and connected to a web site, press backspace with
the letter "o" to pull up the internet options menu. Sorry if you have a
qwerty keyboard because I only know the braille keyboard commands. Once in
the internet options menu, press the letter "i" for internet file
management menu. Then press the letter "f" for file download options.
There is only one item in that submenu. It is whether or not you want to
stream or download audio files. If set to stream, any mp3 or m3u links you
hit should play. If streaming is set to no, then those files will just
download.
Hope this helps

Hi all, thanks for your responses both on and off list.
Regarding the FM Radio, yes - I was listening with headphones
attached;
there was still not enough reception, though, to give me the
listening
pleasure I craved.
Regarding my streaming issue, I've gotten it more or less figured
out. It
turns out that MP3 streams are compatible, but only if links to
the streams
are in properly formatted .pls files. So, direct links to
streams don't
work, nor do M3U playlist files. This is odd, but now that I've
gotten it
figured out, I can roll with it.
And it is unfortunate that Word support is so much lacking, but I
do
understand - it's a very proprietary format and it must be
difficult for
Humanware to get the technical side sorted out. It has to be
possible,
though: Duxbury, Kurzweil, web-based attachment viewers, and
other
applications can do it!
Thanks all for your help! I'll keep you posted, and I do like my
new
device.
Grant
