I, too, experience this issue, but I don't think the radio was really 
designed to be used as a primary receiver: when I was listening to the short 
presentation about it in the KeySoft 7.0 What's New file, I distinctly 
remember Jonathan Mosen saying that it was designed to give the same 
reception as a cell phone.  It works for getting the traffic updates, which 
is all I'd want to use it for anyway.
