Hi Peggy,This is Jimmy Malone. Sometimes the router will work with one computer and depending on the access point that the BN is receiving from will determine if a connection is good or not. If you are using a cable or DSL Modem, Unplug both of them for ten seconds and plug them in again. I have a Linksys router that does both wireless, and Ethernet, and on the wireless side I had to change the routers channel. I also had to change the Web settings. I was on the phone for better then an hour trying to work on this problem. I don't currently have my BN otherwise I would try and test this out for you. I have 5 computers connected to my network at the present time, so I know it works. When it gets back from the shop, I'll run a test if you haven't gotten yours worked out, and by the way, I haven't forgotten about calling you back. Its been crazy around this camp.Jimmy----- Original Message ----- From: "Peggy Kern"<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 08, 2008 5:56 AM Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Wireless suddenly not workingIt works fine on my PC; just not on the BrailleNote. Do you have a PC using the same internet provider that you can test it out on? If the BN says connected then it doesn't seem like a wireless problem to me. I got similar messages when one of my email accounts was playing up and it turned out that they changed what we needed to use as our user name without telling us and at that time my mum was having problems as well but we could still use the internet just not receive mail.Hope this helps,From Shaz.BN QT MPower and PK user.----- Original Message ----- From: "Peggy Kern" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "Braillenote" <[email protected] Date sent: Thu, 7 Aug 2008 23:02:02 -0700 Subject: [Braillenote] Wireless suddenly not workingHi, all. I have a situation I've never had before, and I'd liketo know ifanyone has had a similar situation and how you fixed it. I'vealways beenable to connect wirelessly here at home. But this morning, andnow tonight,I can't. I insert the card (an Ambicom card), and it'srecognized. I go tothe connections menu, choose wireless, scan for a connection, andsee myhome connection, which I created a long time ago. I hit enterand it saysconnecting, and then connected. The signal strength is aroundminus 29 orminus 30, as I recall. The BN is in the same place it always iswhen I dowireless. But when I try to retrieve e-mail, I get an errorconnecting topop server, and I get a cannot find server message when I try touse theweb. Even though I didn't think it would fix it, I did a reset, just to seewhat would happen, and I was right: the wireless card stilldoesn't work.I'll need to have my husband check and make sure the router andeverythingis connected correctly, but I'm sure it must be, or I wouldn'tpick up mywireless connection, would I? I wonder if my card is failing. If so, I mayneed to know where to get a new one, as I thought some of yousaid they'reharder to come by.Peggy http://kernsac.livejournal.com/___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
