Hi, Shaz,
I called tech support, and that is always a crap shoot. I got some cool-type girl who said things like, "uh, I can't remember whether you hold down the buttons or not, oh well, we'll try it both ways, and if it doesn't work, send it in." So very helpful and inspires so much confidence when you realize that the tech support person is playing a guessing game. *sigh*

Well, after pressing c1 and c4, I got the braille note pk message, but I never got the chimes and the keysoft message. I had a problem a while ago, and whatever the tech support person told me to do last time worked, but I forget what it was. She, BTW was *excellent.* So the girl from yesterday said to leave it plugged in for a whole day, then try it again, and if that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for a day and try again, but basically, both of those things have already been done...
The PK has been working just fine, so this is really out of the blue.
Thanks in advance
Alice

Hi, after you did the C1 C4 reset and got the message off did you
do the C1 C4 reset again? This reset turns it off ready for
storage so you need to do it again to turn it back on. After you
get the Braillenote PK message you need to wait awhile before
you get the music and the keysoft start up.

Hope this helps and if you have already done this let me know and
I will see what else I can think of.

From Shaz.

Subject: [Braillenote] help!

Hi, everybody.
I plugged my PK in this morning to charge. I may have let the
battery go all the way down, but I'm not sure about that. The
last time I used it was a couple of days ago.
When I took it off the charger and tried to turn it on, all
the pins were sort of half-way up. So I did a c1 c4 reset. I hear
an upwards chime, a third, then it said in Braille:
brlnote pk
So I did the c1 c4 reset again. This time I heard a downwards
chime, the same third, and the Braille said:
off
No speech.
I tried a c3 c4 reset, nothing, also a 4-5-6 reset, which never
does anything in my experience. So here the PK sits, telling me
that it's a Braille note PK, which I already know!
How di I find the system and get up and running again?
Thanks.
Alice
